I was just at Walmart and saw the Masterbuilt 560 Charcoal Smoker on sale.
Even though it shows at $499 on the floor ($748 normally), it manually scans at $98.00
At the Mississauga Road Location in Brampton, there were two more in stock not including the floor model.
Reviews online are pretty good although there are newer and larger models; but for the price you can't go wrong!
A few things. Make sure you have room in your vehicle as it's pretty big and bring someone with you as the box says 150Lbs.
I've also attached the following pics:
Display on the floor
Receipt
The size of it in the back of my minivan (had to stow one of the seats down to have it fit)Good luck and please give me a thumbs up if you found this useful!
Cheers!

Thanks OP, picked up the last one in my area lol.

Which you will go through in about 4 cooks with this thing.
Gotta stock up when they go on clearance.
I haven't purchased any charcoal at all this year and still have a dozen plus bags ready to go.
I also toss wood into the mix every now and then. I trimmed a long neglected cherry tree last year and so I have a ton of wood that could be used. (Just remember to use hardwood only and remove as much bark as possible)

StockTrack shows some available in a nearby store but the Walmart.ca store availability check shows none. Anyone knows who to believe?

Please do not leave the house (or rather go far). BBQs can flash fire. This is especially true if you are not cleaning it out after a fatty cook.

There's a mod on YouTube to save charcoal. Look pretty easy; will have to learn more about smoking (n00b).
Any comments from the experts here?
Cheers!

I always have someone at home just in case, but anyway on a sunny day, with the temperature set to 250f, there is not a very big risk. I have a container for fat under the meat and I have an inkbird wifi thermometer that notifies me if the temperature rises too much.
The important thing is that you don't have to worry about the temperature, the device keeps the temperature all day without adjustment ans you can monitor if and ajust at distance if you want.

Whatever is the cheapest and available at the box stores as SK does not have a lot of options to buy.
Canadian Tire is my go-to for wood chunks and charcoal. I earned extra eCT money from the CT Mastercard WE, Triangle select and the app offers such as, "spend x, earn y eCT money", and the 20x/10x/5x charcoal & bbq accessories. I used cherry wood the most in my smokes for the mild flavour and darken smoke ring. Hickory is 2nd, great for pork like butts, picnic roasts and belly. Mesquite is okay but a bit too strong of the scent for me personally.

From experience, the amount of ashes produced from the burning charcoal may caked/packed up the spaces of the grates, causing heat loss as the fan can't blow air through. When I was using the cheap Royal Oak briquettes, the ashes caked up the grate in a few hours, which cause the temperatures to drop. You have to manually shake the grate often to remove the excess ashes down the bin. The more expensive briquettes and lump charcoals will produce less ashes to minimize that issue.

I used a disposal tray/cookie sheet as well as wrapped aluminum foil on both the manifold and bottom drip tray to minimize flare-ups and easy clean-up. In case a fire does flare up, I have a box of baking soda on hand sitting on the bottom shelf.
Wear shoes instead of sandals or going barefoot when walking to the smoker/grill.

Another hack I've read about involves reducing the size of the smoke exhaust gap in the rear of the top hood - keeps more warm air inside the cooking chamber, and reduces the fan speed since temp is preserved better.

Not sure why I am tempted as well, since I already own one.

That's true. If you search for rear vent mods for the Masterbuilt, LSS and Klotes will pop-up with their own versions. Only problem is the cost of the mods + shipping is not RFD friendly.
If you visit the BBQ thread, myself and others have cheaper alternative mods for the rear vent. I used aluminum foil and magnets to block most of the vent, leaving ~ 2" gap for the smoke & heat to escape.

I am tempted as well too. Mainly for it will be cheaper than ordering the individual parts.

Can someone with this bbq check where this switch is supposed to be wired too. For some reason mine was cut by something and its not obvious where it was connected to.
My fan doesn't start up. Checked with my multimeter and it's not getting any voltage
I bypassed the other two switches and wired the 12v straight to the fan, so there's something else preventing the bbq from starting.
