Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045: Season 2 | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Sam Barsanti AV Club The action is a little more dynamic and the art style is easier to get used to, though the character designs are still lousy and there’s an abundance of incredibly dull backgrounds and sets. Rated: C- May 28, 2022 Full Review Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045: Season 2 | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Charles Hartford But Why Tho? A Geek Community Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Season 2 is a solid step up from its predecessor. Thanks to not squandering half its season on setup, this time around, the gang get into the action fast, delivers some tense moments, and even crafts an intriguing story. Apr 15, 2023 Full Review Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045: Season 2 | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Panos Kotzathanasis Asian Movie Pulse The contextual intricacy of the previous installments is nowhere to be found, and the dumbed-down approach is evident throughout, essentially deeming the title one only addressed to people who have no clue of the original. Rated: 4 Jan 2, 2023 Full Review Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045: Season 2 | Rotten Tomatoes (4) David Hogan hoganreviews.co.uk The second season is an improvement over the first, though only because we’re into the meat of the new core story. If I looked at both series overall I’d still say it’s easily skippable, especially given the rough-looking animation. Rated: 3/5 Jun 14, 2022 Full Review Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045: Season 2 | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Claire Napier Polygon It is a lesser life-form, and it is starving to death for lack of inspiration. Jun 9, 2022 Full Review Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045: Season 2 | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Jonathon Wilson Ready Steady Cut It’s nice to see the long-time actors still being committed to the franchise, but it often serves as a reminder of how much the franchise itself seems to be oddly uncommitted to itself. Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/23/23 Full Review James F As someone who studied literature in college, I'm more focus on the content of a story rather than how the visuals look, and if you can look pass the CGI animation, then Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 has a decent story to tell (though, the season 2 ending was confusing to most people). For season 2, there will be major references to one of the well-known novels in American literature, and the writing has done a decent job of incorporating those themes into the story (not a great job, but at least you may learn something from watching this anime). Even though the writing of the story is important to me, I did find the action scenes in season 2 entertaining to watch. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Zoomers get too distracted by the shitty CGI to appreciate anything about it. I enjoyed the story of SAC_2045 way more then the previous SACs or Arise, all I remember from those is "Catcher in the Rye" hacker, Pazu's identity getting stolen by one of the chicks he fucked and dumped, I remember nothing about Arise beside there was some black chick, Kusanagi had a boyfriend who was obviously evil, and one of the Arises had like barely 2 action sequences. 2045 came closest to GITS 1 and 2 in my book Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review vinicius d Still doesn't do Ghost in the Shell justice. The animation has improved somewhat, but it's still too jarring when compared to contemporary productions (look at Arcane, for example). The music selection is still bad and though we have a few nostalgic beats/scenes and more "action" setpieces, the story is as hollow as they come these days. This season will probably bury the show and lead us to another GitS hiatus, unfortunately... Rated 2/5 Stars • Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Great season, awesome ending. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Great! I am a fan of GiS since more than 20 years and I think, it is still on a different level. I love also the new edition. Must see!
