Well it's all relative. It's still pretty light for the size and compared to TVs of long ago.
E.g. My 46" XBR8 from way back when weighs about 75lbs (85lbs with the stand too because they used ginormous hefty stands back then too, not the little dinky legs of today). My 46" XBR HX909 is nearly the same (about 4-5lbs lighter).
The 55" version of the XBR8 was over 100lbs and cresting that 120lbs mark with the stand. At the time, a 75" TV was basically the largest out there, and the 75XBR7 was over 150lb and close to 200lbs with the stand! You probably don't want to know the original price of any of these TVs either
No longer posting on RFD. Will answer PMs from time to time, if anyone needs help/advice/etc.

Haha that's a lightweight. Remember back in 2013 the 85" plasma was 260lbs! Or going back further those old Sony Wega tvs ouch.
I certainly do appreciate the relatively light weight of today's tv's.

Yes understood. It might be a language barrier on my end, or even a regional thing. In my area when we say a couple it means more than 2 (otherwise we only say 2). It doesn't mean a lot (still a small number) but more than 2. There is no way we could have been 3 or more to move it in my stairs, there was room for 2 people only, one on each end of the TV.
But even if it was lighter than 120 lbs, because of the size I would not recommend moving it alone as you are likely to hit a wall or have difficulty to align it properly on the wall mount. I would still recommend 2 people to move it even if it was lighter.

Any chance this tv will go down to $3500 now at Costco because of the $2000 USD amazon price? Obviously not worth paying $1300+ extra on the exchange rate just for the better warranty.... At least when it was priced at $2500 USD. An extra $640-$650 was fully worth it imo... if it goes down to $3500 we are paying an extra $800..... Pushing the limits, but I could still justify it having a 7 year warranty compared to 4 blah blah blah

Never mind lifting it yet.
First, you'll need a cargo van or cube truck to bring it home.
As someone mentioned already, its basically the size of a 4x8 plywood sheet.
Make sure it can fit into your home or apartment/condo elevator.
Get a fixed HD wall mount - https://www.primecables.ca/p-363903-cab ... rimecables
Next, you wanna make sure the mount is properly attached to the wall, to avoid this scenario:
Obviously, you want to avoid so-called "Full Motion Articulating" mounts.
Mounting the back plate will depend on your wall, if its drywall, concrete, load-bearing wall, etc., etc.
For example, I wanted to install 75" Sharp LCD TV on the wall in my 70 y.o. apartment 10 years ago.
That wall was 3" thick, and consisted of 2 pieces of drywall, with nothing in between them.
I ended up drilling the wall right through and using 6 1/4 x 4-inch hex head cap screws to secure it.
10 years later, its still there
P.S. PM me if you need help. 15 years experience of wall mounting TVs, LED videowalls, own a new Transit van.

I would like to see the panel in person. I can see this being good for a sports bar or sports-oriented restaurant.
If the panel quality is low, an equivalent-cost projector would probably perform better.
I aim to be inclusive and considerate of others in my posts. If I fall short of that mark, feel free to let me know in good faith, and where appropriate, I'll edit my posts. Thank you.

I love it and for the movie theater effect I really would not go any smaller. Don't forget that most movies are 2.35:1 so you need to "exclude" the black bars, it is big but really not that big when you take that into consideration (1.85:1 movies are not as common).
That being said, there is no way it can compete with OLED image quality. OLED is top image quality while this TV is a very basic TV (no local dimming so there is no blooming effect) and image quality wise, it is probably worst than pretty much every other 2023/2024 TV but because of the size, you get the immersion effect. It depends if you want to get in the movie or analyze the image quality.
When there are some very dark scenes, the black level is not very good and it makes it difficult to see the details. That is really my main issue with this TV.
Also, it is very minor but for decades, as soon as I turned on my TV, it was instantly on. With this TV you need to wait for Google TV OS to boot (which is annoying because I don't even use the smart features, I suppose every smart TV must be like that, it is my first smart TV). I am used to my old 2012 Sharp TV. The image quality of the TCL is better (and it is much bigger) but the Sharp is on as soon as I press the button.
I looked at projectors as well when I was debating what to buy but they have their own issues (and benefits as well): geometry issues, calibration is more difficult and so is installation, fan noise, lamp replacement if you don't go laser (which are very expensive to run in the end).... If you include the cost of the screen, lamps etc the price goes up pretty fast. High quality smaller TVs, bigger basic TVs, entry level or high end projectors... they all have pros and cons.
Try not! Do or do not, there is no try...

JEDI Force wrote: ↑Anyone managed to get this TV? I bought it on Black Friday and it has been a nightmare ever since getting them to sell it to me at the Black Friday price. They have issues billing my credit card even if I call the banks (MBNA says they cannot go through with the transaction because of security because the bestbuy.ca system is outdated for large amounts and they need to update their system and I cannot do any thing, BestBuy doesn't want to bill Tangerine after the preauthorization was a success because they said there is a security issue but Tangerine told me there was a preauthorization and they accepted it, they never denied the transaction).
Long story short, I am on my 6th attempt with a 3rd credit card, I hope it will go through this time (already called the bank, they put a note on the preauthorization to say it is not fraud but if Bestbuy doesn't go through like they did with Tangerine, the bank cannot do anything). Every time I call I get a conflicting info and the agent says what the previous agent told me is not true...
Last time I called they said I should go to the store and use my credit card in store to buy the TV (of course without the Black Friday rebate) but the TV is online (no stock in store near me) but since it is free delivery they say I can. Did someone manage to do that? (yes I know I can call to ask but as I said, every time I call the agent says conflicting info so I would like to know if someone actually did it).
I haven't bought this TV but to your problem, would it be possible to pay using a paper cheque?

No the only option I was offered was credit card and I could not go to the store to use it physically. In the end I am in Québec so I made a complaint to OPC and then I could talk to someone at BestBuy that knew and cared so my problem got fixed. It seems the agents didn't care and/or didn't know what they were doing... They even denied my request to speak to a manager.
